On March 8th, 2024, a significant milestone unfolded as our partner, Universidad de Burgos, took the helm in hosting the Awards Ceremony of the “XIX Regional Biology Olympics” in Castilla y León. This event served as a beacon of inspiration, drawing together 256 high school students eager to showcase their knowledge and passion for biology.
Amidst the spirited atmosphere, Dr. Rocío Barros, member of the ICCRAM – University of Burgos-EST Research Group, graced the occasion with her captivating presentation titled “Toxin-eating bacteria.” Through her insightful discourse, Dr. Barros illuminated intricate facets of microbiology, delving into the fascinating realm of toxin-eating bacteria and their potential applications.
The Awards Ceremony not only celebrated academic achievement but also fostered a spirit of curiosity, exploration, and collaboration among budding scientists. It is through such platforms that we nurture the next generation of scientific leaders, instilling in them a passion for discovery and a commitment to addressing pressing global challenges.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all the participants, organisers, and attendees who contributed to the success of this remarkable event.
