27–29 May 2025 | Ljubljana, Slovenia

The MicrobeTech 2025 event, co-organised by the BIOSYSMO and BIOREM projects, successfully concluded at the Jožef Stefan Institute (JSI) in Ljubljana. Over three days, nearly 100 participants—ranging from researchers and students to industry professionals—gathered to explore the latest in microbial technologies for environmental remediation.

The programme included a public workshop, a hands-on summer school, internal meetings, and a dynamic poster session featuring over 20 research posters. Two standout posters were honoured for their innovative contributions to phytoremediation and microbial consortia development.

With more than 20 expert speakers from leading European institutions, topics covered included microbial viability, genome-scale modelling, phytoremediation strategies, and real-world applications.

MicrobeTech 2025 also served as a networking platform, strengthening collaboration among projects like NYMPHE, MIBIREM, TRIBIOME, MySoil, and SpiLess, reinforcing the importance of microbial innovation in building a sustainable, circular bioeconomy.
