ISPTS-2026

The BIOSYSMO Project is pleased to share information about the upcoming 20th International Symposium on Persistent Toxic Substances and Health (ISPTS-2026), which will take place in Bologna, Italy, from 9 to 13 September 2026.

The symposium is being organised by the University of Bologna, in collaboration with the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Nanjing University. The event will bring together scientists, environmental experts, policymakers, and industry representatives to discuss the latest research and technological developments related to persistent toxic substances and their impact on both the environment and human health.

ISPTS-2026 will focus on a wide range of important topics, including persistent and emerging pollutants, environmental contamination pathways, human health implications, remediation technologies, and nature-based solutions. The programme will also highlight innovative approaches involving artificial intelligence, biotechnology, and advanced environmental monitoring tools, showcasing how interdisciplinary research can support more sustainable remediation strategies.

The conference represents an important opportunity for researchers and stakeholders working in environmental restoration and bioremediation to exchange knowledge, strengthen collaborations, and explore future research directions. BIOSYSMO encourages partners across the ALL4BIOREM Cluster and related consortia to participate in the symposium and contribute to the scientific discussions.

Researchers interested in presenting their work should note that the abstract submission deadline is 31 May 2026.
