The BIOSYSMO Project successfully held its final General Assembly on 22–23 June 2026 in Florence, Italy, bringing together consortium partners ahead of the project’s final review and the BioRemid 2026 conference. The meeting marked an important milestone, providing an opportunity to assess the progress achieved throughout the project and coordinate the final activities before its completion.
During the two-day meeting, partners reviewed the project’s scientific, technical, and management achievements, discussed the remaining tasks and deliverables, and aligned on the final steps towards the project review. The General Assembly also included a joint session with the MIBIREM Project, enabling both consortia to exchange experiences, identify synergies, and explore opportunities for future collaboration in the field of environmental bioremediation.
Immediately following the General Assembly, the BIOSYSMO consortium participated in BioRemid 2026 – the 4th International Meeting on New Strategies in Bioremediation and Restoration Processes, held in Florence. As a member of the ALL4BIOREM Cluster, BIOSYSMO contributed to the conference programme alongside the NYMPHE and SYMBIOREM projects, presenting innovative research and participating in discussions on bioremediation, soil and water restoration, and nature-based solutions.
The conference provided an excellent opportunity to engage with researchers, industry representatives, policymakers, and other stakeholders, fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration across the European environmental research community. Visitors also had the opportunity to meet members of the ALL4BIOREM Cluster at the dedicated exhibition booth, where participating projects showcased their latest results and ongoing activities.
A highlight of the event was the participation of the project’s Project Officer in the ALL4BIOREM workshop, reflecting the importance of the collaborative work carried out by the cluster and the growing impact of European initiatives addressing soil and water remediation challenges.
The BIOSYSMO consortium would like to thank all project partners for their commitment, collaboration, and contributions throughout the project. The Final General Assembly and BioRemid 2026 provided an excellent conclusion to years of successful cooperation and an opportunity to share the project’s achievements with the wider scientific community.
