The BIOSYSMO Project was recently featured on the Spanish national radio programme Europa Abierta, helping bring the project’s research and environmental mission to a broader public audience. The programme highlighted several EU-funded initiatives working on innovative solutions for environmental sustainability and soil restoration.
Representing BIOSYSMO, Dr. Rocío Barros García from the University of Burgos introduced the project’s work on using native soil microorganisms to help break down pollutants and support the remediation of contaminated environments. During the interview, she explained how microbiome-based approaches can contribute to more sustainable and nature-based solutions for addressing industrial soil pollution.
The radio feature provided an excellent opportunity to communicate the importance of soil health research and demonstrate how European collaborative projects are advancing innovative technologies with real environmental impact. It also helped raise awareness of the role that microorganisms can play in restoring ecosystems and supporting a healthier environment for future generations.
BIOSYSMO is proud to contribute to these efforts and to see its work shared through platforms that make scientific research more accessible to the public.
We would like to sincerely thank the University of Burgos (UBU) team for supporting the dissemination of the project and helping bring BIOSYSMO’s activities to a wider audience.
