From March 24 to 29, the Jožef Stefan Institute (JSI) opened its doors once again for its much-anticipated Open Days — an annual celebration of science, research, and discovery. Organised in honor of the Slovenian physicist Jožef Stefan, whose birthday falls on March 24, this event has become a meaningful tradition, bringing science closer to the public and inspiring the next generation of thinkers and innovators.

Throughout the week, visitors had the chance to explore the Institute’s labs and research facilities, engage directly with scientists, and get an inside look at some of the groundbreaking work being carried out across a wide range of scientific fields — from physics and materials science to energy, biotechnology, and artificial intelligence.

The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming, with interactive exhibitions, live demonstrations, and guided tours that helped make complex topics more accessible and exciting. It was a great opportunity for students, educators, families, and curious minds of all ages to learn more about the role science plays in shaping our world.

We’re especially proud of our JSI team who contributed their time, knowledge, and energy to making the event such a success. Their enthusiasm and dedication to sharing their work with the broader community is what makes JSI Open Days so special year after year.

A big thank you to everyone who visited, participated, and helped bring this celebration of science to life!
